53 (King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was converted to RA from 5 Battalion KOYLI (53 LAA Regiment) (TA), in August 1940. The Regiment was placed in suspended animation in September 1946. 53 (King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was re-constituted as 553 (King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
