54 (Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was converted from 9th (Dumbartonshire) Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (TA), in November 1938. The Regiment went to France in November 1939 with 3 Corps. It served in the UK until going to Normandy in June 1944. The Regiment was placed in suspended animation in February 1946. 54 (Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was re-constituted as 554 (Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
