33 Field Brigade (Army) Royal Artillery was formed by the conversion of 5 Light Brigade Royal Artillery in October 1935. The Regiment was re-designated 33 Field Regiment RA from 33 Field Brigade in May 1938. It re-organised on a two battery basis in October 1938 and as three batteries in March 1941. In June 1944 the Regiment was re-designated as 33 Field Regiment (Self Propelled) Royal Artillery. Post war 33 Field Regiment RA converted to 24 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment Royal Artillery in April 1947. Three batteries, 101, 109 & 113 were coverted to Light Anti-Aircraft Batteries as 2, 51 & 128 respectively. 114 Battery was de-linked and converted to 115 Anti-Tank Battery.
