78 Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 with three batteries. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command in the Cheshire area for its entire service. 78 Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) was reduced to a cadre in July 1943 and disbanded in September 1943.
