57 (Glasgow) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 5/8th Battalion The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) (57 Searchlight Regiment) (TA) to the RA. It served in Anti-Aircraft Command in Scotland until December 1942 in both 3 and 12 Anti-Aircraft Divisions and 6 AA Group.. Then the unit was moved to the North West of England. The Regiment was converted to 147 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment in March 1943. It was re-constituted as 592 (Glasgow) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
