41 (5th North Staffordshire Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 41 (5th North Staffordshire Regiment) Anti-Aircraft Battalion Royal Engineers (TA) to the RA. The Regiment served with Anti-Aircraft Command until transferring to 21 Army Group in August 1944. It moved to France in August 1944 and fought through Belgium and into Germany. 41 (5th North Staffordshire Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) was placed in suspended animation in March 1946 and was re-constituted as 576 (5th Battalion The North Staffordshire Regiment) (Mixed) Light Anti-Aircraft/Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
