38 (The King’s Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 38 (The King’s Regiment) Anti-Aircraft Battalion Royal Engineers (TA) to the RA. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command until January 1945 when it converted to Infantry. 38 (The King’s Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) was converted to 635 Infantry Regiment RA in January 1945. It went to suspended animation in January 1946 and was re-constituted as 573 (The King’s Regiment) (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
