34 (Queen’s Own Royal West Kent) Searchlight Regiment RA(TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 34 (Queen’s Own) Anti-Aircraft Battalion Royal Engineers (TA) to the RA. The Regiment served with 27 Anti-Aircraft Brigade in the UK from its formation until it was converted to an Infantry role. 34 (Queen’s Own Royal West Kent) Searchlight Regiment RA(TA) was converted to 633 Infantry Regiment RA in January 1945. It was re-constituted as 569 (The Queen’s Own) (Mixed) Light Anti-Aircraft/Searchlight Regiment RA(TA) in January 1947.
