14 Royal Horse Artillery

14 Royal Horse Artillery was formed in India at Dhond in September 1942 with three batteries. 414 Battery on detachment from 104 RHA was expanded to form two batteries as the basis for the new regiment. From India, the Regiment served in Iraq, Syria and North Africa. It served with various armoured formations throughout its service. It was disbanded in April 1946 and 414 Battery from 14 Royal Horse Artillery was reconstituted as part of 304 (Essex Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
