50 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed from 58 Battery ex 19 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, in July 1940. The Regiment served solely in the UK with Air Defence Great Britain until July 1943 and then 21 Army Group. Originally earmarked for Operation Overlord (D Day), it was disbanded to provide the extra manpower required for the expanded Regiments taking part in Overlord (D Day). 50 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was disbanded in March 1944.
