47 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed from 66 Battery ex 20 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, in July 1940. The Regiment served in Air Defence Great Britain until November 1942 in the South West of England. It then moved to North Africa and on to Italy in September 1943 via Sicily. 47 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was converted to 47 Garrison Regiment RA in December 1944. It re-organised as 615 Infantry Regiment RA in February 1945 before disbanding before the end of the year.
