24 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed at Southampton, in December 1938. It served with both the 5th and 10th Divisions of Anti-Aircraft Command until moving abroad. The Regiment moved to India in March 1942. It was converted to 24 Light Anti-Aircraft/Anti-Tank Regiment in November 1942. 24 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was re-constituted as 524 (Bournemouth) Light Anti-Aircraft/Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
