124 (Highland) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was converted in February 1942 from 51 Searchlight Regiment. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command until August 1943. It then transferred to 2 Army to prepare for D Day. It moved to Normandy in August 1944 around Caen. With 70 Anti-Aircraft Brigade it moved to Ostend and then the south bank of the Scheldt estuary. It stayed there until the end of the war. 124 (Highland) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was placed in suspended animation in June 1946 and re-constituted as 586 (Highland) Light Anti-Aircraft/Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
