64 (Northumbrian) Anti-Aircraft Brigade RA (TA) was formed in December 1936. It was re-designated as 64 (Northumbrian) Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1939. It became 64 (Northumbrian) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in June 1940. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command and moved to North Africa in 1943. It served in Italy and North West Europe. 64 (Northumbrian) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was placed in suspended animation in February 1946 in NW Europe and was reconstituted as 464 (Northumbrian) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
