55 (Kent) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was re-designated as 55 (Kent) Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) from 55 Anti-Aircraft Brigade RA (TA) in January 1939. It was re-designated as Heavy Anti-Aircraft in June 1940. The Regiment was placed in suspended animation in February 1946 and re-formed as a cadre the following month. 55 (Kent) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was re-formed as a War Formed Regiment and designated 73 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA in April 1947. The TA unit reconstituted as 455 (Kent) (M) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
