54 (City of London) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was re-designated as 54 (City of London) Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) from 54 Anti-Aircraft Brigade RA (TA) in January 1939. It was re-designated as Heavy Anti-Aircraft in June 1940. The Regiment sreved in Anti-Aircraft Command until moving to Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in September 1942. In May 1943 it moved to the Middle East for the remainder of the war. 54 (City of London) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was placed in suspended animation in February 1945 and reconstituted as 454 (City of London) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
