77 (Highland) Field Regiment RA (TA)

Formed as 3 Highland Brigade Royal Field Artillery (TF) in February 1920. It became 77 (Highland) Brigade RFA (TA) in 1921. It changed title again in June 1924 becoming 77 (Highland) Field Brigade RA (TA). 77 (Highland) Field Regiment RA (TA) was re-designated from 77 Field Brigade in November 1938 on a two battery basis. A third battery was raised in December 1940. Post war 77 (Highland) Field Regiment RA (TA) was placed into suspended animation in February 1946 and reconstituted as 277 (Highland ) Field Regiment RA(TA) in January 1947.

The Royal Artillery 1939-45
