Formed as 2 West Riding Brigade Royal Field Artillery (TF) in February 1920. In 1921 it became 70 (West Riding) Brigade RFA (TA). It changed title again in June 1924 to 70 (West Riding Field Brigade RA (TA). The Regiment was re-designated 70 (West Riding) Field Regiment RA (TA) from 70 Field Brigade in November 1938 on a two battery basis and as three batteries in February 1941. Post war 70 (West Riding) Field Regiment RA (TA) was placed in suspended animation in July 1946 and re-constituted as 270 (West Riding) Field Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
