Formed as 8 London Brigade Royal Field Artillery (TF) in February 1920. It became 65 (8th London) Brigade RFA (TF) in 1922. The Brigade was re-designated as 65 (8th London) Field Brigade RA (TA) in June 1924. 65 (8th London) Field Regiment RA (TA) was re-designated from 65 Field Brigade in November 1938 on a two battery basis. In January 1941 it changed to a three battery set up. 65 (8th London) Field Regiment RA (TA) went into suspended animation in June 1945 and reconstituted in January 1947 as 265 (8th London) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA).
