2 East Lancashire Brigade Royal Field Artillery (TF) became 52 (East Lancashire) Brigade Royal Field Artillery (TA) in 1921. In 1922 it was re-named 52 (Manchester) Brigade Royal Field Artillery (TA). It was re-designated as 52 (Manchester) Field Brigade RA (TA) in June 1924. 52 (Manchester) Field Regiment RA (TA) was re-designated from 52 Field Brigade in November 1938 on a two battery basis. In March 1941 it changed to a three battery set up. The Regiment went into suspended animation in November 1945 and reconstituted in January 1947 as 252 (Manchester) Field Regiment RA (TA).
