The Regiment was re-designated as 4 Field Regiment RA from 4 Field Brigade in May 1938. It was organised as a two battery Regiment in Egypt in October 1939. The Regiment subsequently changed to a three battery set up in May 1942. Post war, 4 Field Regiment RA became 26 Field Regiment RA in April 1947.
