Formed in 1900 as 27 Brigade-Division RFA and designated 27 Brigade Royal Field Artillery in 1903. It became 27 Field Brigade RA in June 1924. 27 Field Regiment RA was re-designated from 27 Field Brigade in May 1938 on a two battery basis. It re-organised as three batteries in October 1940. It became a Jungle Field Regiment in October 1943, reverting to the Field role in April 1944. Post war 27 Field Regiment RA was re-designated 25 Field Regiment RA in April 1947.
