175 Field Regiment RA was formed from 10 Defence Regiment RA in January 1942 at Tiverton with three batteries. The Regiment was disbanded in February 1943 at Blandford Camp, Dorset and reformed in July with four batteries. It was now a Reserve unit training replacements for units on active service. In December 1943 it became a Holding unit for personnel temporarily unattached to any unit. 175 Field Regiment RA was disbanded in April 1946.
