142 (Royal Devon Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA (TA)

142 (Royal Devon Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA (TA) was formed as a duplicate of 96 (Royal Devon Yeomanry) Field Regiment in July 1939 with two batteries . In November 1940 a third battery was formed at Bircotes, Nottinghamshire. The Regiment fought in Sicily and Italy. For its support of the Canadian Divisions it was awarded the right to wear the Maple Leaf of Canada as an arm badge. 142 (Royal Devon Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA (TA) went into suspended animation in November 1945 and was re-constituted as 342 (Royal Devon Yeomanry) Medium Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
