140 (5th London) Field Regiment RA (TA) was formed in May 1939 at Clapham Common with two batteries as a duplicate of 92 (5th London) Field Regiment. A third battery was raised in January 1941 at Bournemouth. On return from France the Regiment re-equipped in Northern Command. 140 (5th London) Field Regiment RA (TA) converted to 140 Medium Regiment in September 1943. Post war the Regiment went into suspended animation in February 1945 and was disbanded in January 1947.
