132 (Welsh) Field Regiment RA (TA)

132 (Welsh) Field Regiment RA (TA) was formed  in May 1939 with two batteries as a duplicate of 81 Field Regiment. In March 1941 a third battery was formed at Aldershot. In April 1941 it was part of 4 Corps Reserve, backing up the Divisions protecting the coast of Sussex. The Regiment landed in the first wave of Operation Torch. This was the invasion of Algeria. It was in reserve for the invasion of Sicily, landing 15 days after the assault. It then moved on to Italy. 132 (Welsh) Field Regiment RA (TA) went into suspended animation in January 1946 and was disbanded in January 1947.
