129 (Lowland) Field Regiment RA (TA) was formed in May 1939 with two batteries as a duplicate of 78 (Lowland) Field Regiment. It was employed on coastal defence in Essex from May 1940. A third battery was raised in January 1941 at Great Baddow, Essex. After mobile coast defence duties in Northumberland, the Regiment sailed for India in June 1942. Post war 129 (Lowland) Field Regiment RA (TA) went into suspended animation in February 1946 and was disbanded in January 1947.
