124 (Northumbrian) Field Regiment RA (TA) was formed as a duplicate of 72 Field Regiment in May 1939 with two batteries . In May 1943 a third battery joined. Post war 124 (Northumbrian) Field Regiment RA (TA) went into suspended animation in January 1946 and was re-constituted as 324 (Northumbrian) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA(TA) in January 1947.
