563 Coast Regiment RA was formed as 26 Coast Artillery Group RA at Deal with five batteries, in October 1940. It was re-designated 563 Coast Regiment RA in June 1941. RHQ was disbanded in April 1944, 410 Battery joined 540 Coast Regiment RA and the remaining batteries joined 549 Coast Regiment RA.
