562 Coast Regiment RA was formed as 24 Coast Artillery Group RA at Barrow with two batteries, in October 1940. It was re-designated 562 Coast Regiment RA in June 1941. RHQ was disbanded in June 1945, 298 Battery going to suspended animation and the remainder being disbanded.
