547 Coast Regiment RA was formed as 9 Coast Artillery Group RA at Saxmundham with five batteries, in October 1940. It was re-designated 547 Coast Regiment RA in June 1941. RHQ was disbanded in April 1944 with 382 Battery joining 554 Coast Regiment RA and the remaining batteries joining 544 Coast Regiment RA.
