544 Coast Regiment RA was formed as 5 Coast Artillery Group RA at Lowestoft with two batteries, in October 1940. It was re-designated 544 Coast Regiment RA in June 1941. The Regiment was disbanded in June 1945 with 225 Battery placed in suspended animation and 215 Battery joining 515 Coast Regiment RA(TA).
