543 Coast Regiment RA was formed as 3 Coast Artillery Group RA at Dundee with two batteries, in October 1940. It was re-designated 543 Coast Regiment RA in June 1941. RHQ was disbanded in April 1944 with 242 Battery placed in suspended animation and 143 & 303 Batteries joining 4 Coast Training Regiment RA.
