540 Coast Regiment RA was formed from Eastern Counter Bombardment Fire Command at Dover with RHQ & 203 Battery, in February 1941. RHQ and Fire Command disbanded in June 1945 with 302 Battery at South Foreland, St Margarets Bay. The remaining batteries were dispersed.
