534 (Orkney) Coast Regiment RA (TA) was formed from part of the Orkney Heavy Regiment RA (TA), in September 1940. It was responsible for the western defences in Stromness Fire Command. RHQ 534 (Orkney) Coast Regiment RA (TA)was placed in suspended animation in June 1945 and the batteries joined 538 Coast Regiment RA (TA). It was disbanded in January 1947.
