524 (Lancashire & Cheshire) Coast Regiment RA (TA) was formed from part of the Lancashire & Cheshire Heavy Regiment RA (TA), in July 1940. RHQ was converted to 619 Infantry Regiment RA (TA) in January 1945. 619 Regiment was placed in suspended animation in October 1945. 524 (Lancashire & Cheshire) Coast Regiment RA (TA) was reconstituted as 420 (Lancashire & Cheshire) Coast Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
