10 Mobile Coast Regiment RA was formed in Malaya, in October 1939. It was initially known as 10 Mobile Coast Defence Regiment but “Defence” was dropped from the title in December 1940. The Regiment converted to 16 Defence Regiment RA in February 1941 and was captured at Singapore in February 1942.
