85 Anti-Tank Regiment RA was formed at RHQ 68 Anti-Tank Regiment in Walsingham in September 1941. It took over batteries from four different anti-tank regiments. When they left the UK they were headed for Basra. They were diverted at Durban to Singapore. 85 Anti-Tank Regiment RA was put into suspended animation after capture at Singapore in February 1942.
