83 Anti-Tank Regiment RA was formed at RHQ 62 Anti-Tank Regiment in East Grinstead in September 1941. It took over batteries from four different anti-tank regiments. In June 1942, it was re-designated RHQ “Y” Field Regiment (later 165 Field Regiment). In July 1942 a new RHQ was formed with the original batteries. 83 Anti-Tank Regiment RA, less one battery, disbanded in December 1944.
