54 Super Heavy Regiment RA was formed in February 1945 from 54 Heavy Regiment with the same four batteries. In December, 11 Battery of 54 Heavy Regiment converted to 11 Super Heavy Battery while under command of 54 Heavy RHQ. It served in Italy as the only Super Heavy RA Regiment and was also the only Super Heavy regiment within the RA to operate two different super heavy gun types in each battery.
The Regiment was fully disbanded in October 1945. 14 Battery to suspended animation as 14 Coast Battery RA.
