86 Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) was formed in January 1941 with three batteries, at Kilmarnock. The Regiment served in 12 Anti-Aircraft Division for 12 months before becoming Light Anti-Aircraft. 86 Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) was converted to 120 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment in January 1942.
