74 (Essex Fortress) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 74 (Essex Fortress) Anti-Aircraft Battalion Royal Engineers (TA) to the RA. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Commanduntil conversion. 74 (Essex Fortress) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA)was converted to 74 Garrison Regiment RA in November 1944 and became 613 Infantry Regiment RA in February 1945. It was re-constituted as 609 (Tottenham) (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
