73 (Kent Fortress) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA)

73 (Kent Fortress) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 73 (Kent Fortress) Anti-Aircraft Battalion Royal Engineers (TA) to the RA. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command for the entire war. It served in the South East of England before being placed in suspended animation in September 1944. 73 (Kent Fortress) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) was re-constituted as 608 (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
