68 (Monmouthshire Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 1st (Rifle) Battalion The Monmouthshire Regiment (68 Searchlight Regiment) (TA) to the RA. The Regiment was converted to 68 Garrison Regiment in November 1944 and to 609 Infantry Regiment RA in February 1945. It was re-constituted as 603 (1st (Rifle) Battalion The Monmouthshire Regiment) (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
