64 (Essex Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 1/6th Battalion The Essex Regiment (64 Searchlight Regiment) (TA) to the RA. The Regiment was converted to 639 Infantry Regiment in January 1945. It was re-constituted as 599 (Essex) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
