43 (5th Duke of Wellington’s Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) formed in August 1940 by the transfer of 41 (5th Duke of Wellington’s Regiment) Anti-Aircraft Battalion Royal Engineers (TA) to the RA. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command until conversion in late 1944. 43 (5th Duke of Wellington’s Regiment) Searchlight Regiment RA (TA) was converted to 43 Garrison Regiment RA in October 1944 and to 600 Infantry Regiment RA the following month. It was re-constituted as 578 (5th Battalion The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
