6 Brigade Royal Horse Artillery was absorbed into 8 Brigade Royal Field Artillery in 1920. Re-formed in November 1940 as 6 Regiment Royal Horse Artillery with three batteries. It assumed a Light Anti-Aircraft role in 1 Armoured Division in May 1946. In October 1947 it converted to 6 Field Regiment RA.
