85 (City of London) Medium Regiment RA (TA) was converted from 53 (City of London) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in August 1944. It was initially designated A Medium Regiment but re-designated a week later as 85 Medium. The Regiment went into suspended animation in March 1946. 85 (City of London) Medium Regiment RA (TA) was reconstituted as 453 (City of London) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
