178 (Lowland) Medium Regiment RA (TA) was formed by the conversion of 78 Field Regiment in May 1944. At various times in Italy the Regiment served with 7 & 10 AGRA’s. 178 (Lowland) Medium Regiment RA (TA) went into suspended animation in January 1946 and was reconstituted as 278 (Lowland) Field Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.
