53 (Worcestershire Yeomanry) Air Landing Light Regiment RA was formed in November 1943 from 53 Anti-Tank Regiment with three batteries. Post war it was placed in suspended animation until re-formed in January 1947. In April that year 53 (Worcestershire Yeomanry) Air Landing Light Regiment RA was re-designated 33 Airborne Light Regiment RA.
